Deb has been a practicing acupuncturist for over 13 years. Deb likes to take the time to really listen to her patients and get at the root of their pain, symptoms or illness. She started in acupuncture after a personal experience with acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) showed her the value of a holistic approach to patient care in her own life. Since then, she’s continued her training and education, picking up specialty areas of fertility and women’s health, pain management, sports performance enhancement and injury recovery, and cancer support.
Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Deb spent over 20 years in the corporate sector as a manager, an organizational development consultant, and as a business coach to individuals. She worked with and for many large businesses and not-for-profit organizations including Ford Motor Company, Prudential Insurance, Coopers & Lybrand, Presbyterian Church U.S.A., and the Girl Scouts of America. Now she uses her coaching skills to partner with clients who are seeking better health and a more balanced, centered lifestyle.
Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Deb earned her undergraduate degree at the College of Wooster, in Wooster, Ohio, and her Masters degree in Acupuncture from the nationally-recognized Maryland University of Integrative Health in Columbia, Maryland. She moved to the Takoma Park/Silver Spring area over two decades ago. She and her partner have two sons, Garrison, age 25 and Byron, age 22. She is actively involved in local business, civic, and spiritual communities and is a sports enthusiast. She enjoys traveling, hiking and biking, yoga and meditation.
