Karen’s interest in multi-cultural and natural forms of healing led her to pursue a career in massage therapy. She is licensed and Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork providing integrative massage to anyone whose heart is open to receive. She is an Asheville School of Massage and Yoga graduate. Her approach to massage is a focus both on deep relaxation, inviting the body to let go of stress and tension in order to heal itself and on myofascial release, a treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain. Karen believes the body is a resilient masterpiece. Layers of life experience, repetitive motions, and holding patterns all give our body its tone and posture. And facilitating a healing experience for her clients with massage therapy is an integral part in a holistic approach to wellness. Based on her knowledge of the human body coupled with manual techniques, Karen provides integrative massage therapy sessions tailored to meet the individual goals of her clients.

Away from bodywork, Karen enjoys travel, backcountry camping, knitting, people watching, and tea. She is the daughter of a retired Air Force fighter pilot and stay-at-home mom and a sister to five brothers. In her past, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa, an assistant manager at Garden District in DC, a forestry technician and wildland firefighter in the Pacific Northwest, and a countryside warden in Devon, England. She is also a graduate of Duquesne University.
