Jan discovered acupuncture several years ago when she could no longer tolerate the lower back pain she had been living with for more than a decade (like many others in the Washington, DC area, she had a job she enjoyed, but one that required long hours and lots of time in front of a computer). Jan had always been interested in alternative and complimentary forms of medicine, and one day, during a particularly intense episode of back pain, she finally picked up the phone and made an acupuncture appointment. She was astounded by the fact that she began to feel better and move with less pain after only two treatments. With continuing treatment, her back pain almost entirely disappeared. Not only that, but she noticed she was sleeping better and generally feeling happier and more relaxed. With balance restored, the quality of her life had radically changed for the better. So much so, she decided to change careers and introduce others to the healing qualities of acupuncture.
Jan’s mission is to help restore physical, emotional and spiritual harmony while empowering her clients to play an active role in their healing process. She tailors each treatment to the individual, with the intention of promoting health and well-being in body, mind and spirit. Hers is both a straightforward and life-changing goal: she is committed to helping people live happier and healthier lives, and has a special interest in serving individuals living with cancer and stress-related illnesses.
Jan is a board certified, licensed acupuncturist. She holds a Master of Acupuncture (M.Ac.) degree from Maryland University of Integrative Health. She spent her pre-acupuncture career as an association executive conducting research and developing educational programs for the relocation industry. Jan and her husband Joe have two children, Samantha and Zachary.
